Worked out perfect!! I emailed to get more information but haven’t gotten anything back! I would like to order 1 or 2 single brackets but don’t see that option!

If you use a milled true 8x8 it won’t fit you’ll have to notch the beam ! Not hard but labor

They are exactly as described and pictured by the vendor.Fit, finish and construction are very good. I like them and they should serve me well.I will have to pick up another two of these though as my project has 6 vertical legs. I am making what many would call a Pergola but this is going to be 16 feet long (16'L x 12'W x 10'H) and I will be parking my tractor and 4 wheelers under it.Yes, it will have a sloped roof. I will be using 1 cubic yard of concrete for each post burried 2.5' deep. These base pads will be anchored to those.Tired of using tarps to cover everything. That said, pressure treated lumber this size is crazy expensive but I should never have to mess with this again once done.I see these as a good deal. Just what I needed and easy to recommend.

These post bases arrived intact, in new condition, and wrapped in bubble wrap inside a generic, tape-reinforced box weighing almost 40 pounds. The bases are made of solid steel and very heavy. The black finish on them is consistent and clean. These work just as described. No complaints here!

I recently used the vikofan 4-Pack Nominal 8x8 Post Base to secure the posts for my new deck. The bases were easy to install and provided a solid foundation for the wooden posts. The 1-inch standoff ensures proper drainage, which is essential for preventing wood rot. The black finish complements the overall aesthetic of my outdoor space. Overall, I highly recommend the vikofan 4-Pack Nominal 8x8 Post Base to anyone in need of a reliable and durable foundation for wooden posts. Its combination of features, ease of installation, and durability make it an excellent choice for a variety of outdoor structures.

I'm sure every bit as good as Simpson Strong-Tie, see CB Column Base ABU88Z for comparison.Note that the Simpson ABU88Z 8x8 column bases are rated at 22,405 download lbs load and 4,120 upload lbs load per column.Although I have every confidence in this post base, where an architect might specify the Simpson Strong-Tie base, or equivalent, the actual test data specifics are not included with this product in order to make a substitution where for example, specific seismic or load verification by an engineer might be required. It is worth noting that I have observed differences between these type and the type set in concrete. These seem to have a higher rating than those set in concrete, but those set in concrete, whether 4x4, 6x6, or 8x8 all seem to have a rating of about the same, around 4,500 lbs per column. I also assume that those can only be as strong as the concrete that they are set in, therefore the same could only be said for these that attach to an assumed concrete pad such that their capacity can only bare as much as the concrete pad that they are attached to.
