I installed this power inverter in the back of my Ford Bronco to help keep camera equipment charged when I'm on the go. I previously had a 250W inverter, and decided I'd try this 400W inverter to see if it would charge my devices faster. The construction of this inverter is nice; it has an aluminum body, along with two standard outlets, a USB-A outlet, and USB-C outlet. It has a switch on the back and power indicator light on the front so you know if it's working. Unlike some other inverters, it doesn't have an "always on" fan (or at least not one that I can hear) so it's nice not having to constantly hear it if you aren't charging anything. The two biggest issues I've had with this is the claim of 400 watts, and the lack of fuses. Normally an inverter will have a swappable fuse in case the load gets too high that can easily be changed out (either on the body of the invertor or in the cigarette plug). However, I can't seem to find one and that makes me really nervous charging more sensitive (and expensive) camera gear.My other issue is that I'm not really sure if this is capable of 400W. Normally, more watts should mean faster charging when you have multiple devices plugged in (that are capable of fast charging). However when I've plugged in multiple battery cradles, this seems to charge at the same rate as 250W inverter, and much slower than a typical wall outlet. I'm not an electrical engineer so the issue could be with the chargers themselves, but at least for my use case I haven't seen any major differences in charging speed or capability when using it for camera batteries, flash strobes, and laptops.

I don't know what I'm going to use this for, but I like it. I like to keep my options open when it comes to stuff like this in my SUV tool box. We might need to run an air compressor, video game system, tv, or charge more phones. I might need it for just about anything while on short camping trips.I like several things about this device. It's built well out of aluminum. It has 2 USB charging options and 2 AC outlets. It also has a cooking fan of it overheats, although I did not trigger this. I like that it has an onof switch and a corresponding led light to let you know at a glance if it's on. I had no issues while trying this out. It has a permanent home in my vehicle. For testing, I plugged in my phone and grabbed a drill. I probably won't need to use this for drilling, but I figured that tool was pulling a lot of juice, so that's what I went with. The phone charged instantly and continued to charge when the drill was used. The drill operated at full speed. Now I need to find some plug in items I can use with this.

This is just an excellent travel item, I never knew how much I'd be using inverters when I discovered them.I plan to travel a lot and this thing will be going everywhere with me, makes it very easy to power lower-power electronics, run a laptop continuously (while making sure to charge via the alternator or alternate power source such as a Jackery so you don't drain your car battery, of course), another great travel/camping/emergency/EDC item I would hate to live without.

I am not sure what I expected, but this is pretty big, although not overly cumbersome. There are multiple outlets which make this quite functional especially for long-distance drive. This is a great value for the money and will also make a great gift.
