The middle Rebar isn't that thick compared to many of the others that I have purchased. Also, the steel is kind of thin. I have used many many of these post anchors and these just don't live up to the quality and strength that I need. Even though the price point is on the lower end I wouldn't trust these securing a 10ft post.

What an easy way to support your 4x4s well made heavy thick metal, made to hold and last. Does a great job for an excellent price.

I ordered these post anchors for building a BBQ hut to support my grills and smokers. They're made for 4x4 posts and seem pretty solid. The top part holds the post and there's a long piece that goes down into the concrete.Setting these up is easier than traditional post holes - you pour your concrete, stick these in while it's wet, and then once it's dry you can attach your posts. The whole thing is powder coated black which should help prevent rust. They include the hardware you need, though you might want better bolts depending on what you're building. The welds look good and they added some extra support rails on the part that goes in the concrete. The anchor is about 7.5 inches deep. I wouldn't use these for anything super heavy like a deck, but for my BBQ shelter they work fine. One nice thing is you don't lose any post height in the ground, and you don't have to worry about the wood rotting where it meets the dirt.Just make sure you get everything level and squared up when you set them in the concrete - that's the tricky part. Once they're set though, attaching the posts is pretty straightforward.

I used this item to install decorative posts in my backyardit is very strong holding to the 4x4 wood postI also used a ready mix concrete to fix it to the ground and it worked perfectly

I really like these for very specific medium to light duty work. The advantage to using them is also the reason I would like not use them for say - an overhead deck post. You pour the concrete and insert these into the concrete (as you would with any anchor). Once the concrete sets up - and cures - you can insert your 4x4 post and both it together. Easy. Note the "anchor" is about 7.5 inches deep but is held in place by a weld - I worry about laterally movement sheering at this weld. You could also drill in a couple of additional anchor bolts, but that defeats the purpose and ease of install. I like the black look and think they are great for mail boxes, pergolas, fence posts/gates but would shy away from using them to support an overhead deck.

I will be extending my fence and this is an easier way to do it. Either way I have to use a post hole digger whether I set the post in the ground or use this. Both require cement. However if you set the post into the ground you lose that amount in height. So now I gain six to twelve inches in height. The only thing I have to be concerned about is making sure it is level and square to the next post. Definitely a time saver and I don’t have to worry about the post rotting at the ground level.

It is a lot easier for me to get things aligned with this post anchor than bracing a post sunk directly into concrete.
