These keychains for boating and outdoor use are bright and vivid, and they'll easily float a few keys if they end up in the water.As far as the beaded chain, nothing in the description says what it's made of. If you're looking for something that will withstand moisture over time, you'd hope it's either brass or stainless steel. These stick to a magnet, so they're not brass. Most stainless doesn't stick to a magnet, but some does. My guess, then, is that they;'re a chrome-plated steel that would probably rust over time, if left in a wet environment.For my purposes, we take the boat out for a day, then the keys come back inside and they'd never stay wet anyway.Decent keychains, but consider where you're going to be keeping them.

A few years ago I was tubing on a rural river in Georgia. I lost my keys to the river along the way and didn't know about it until it was time to put the gear in the car. Other than a nearby prison, we were the only people for several miles, it was raining, we were completely soaked, and it was just about full dark. Luckily a door was open and we had phone service so a taxi could rescue us while we tried to stay warm in the car. After that experience I am never trusting my keys on anything less than one of these floating devices. It's super buoyant and will have zero trouble with the weight of a couple keys.
