36 grit takes off the old flaky stain on my deck and gets down to clean wood fast. Just as good and much less money than Home Depot. You had better wear gloves. One little slip and these will take off your hide to the bone!

Two of the belts broke at the seam after only a minute or two of use, and two others tore along the edge and stopped the sander. They do not seem to be of good quality. I would not buy again.

My husband started using the very first belt. The picture shows how much he got done before the belt broke. Same thing keeps happening. Save yourself some money and frustration, go to Home Depot and get good belts.

I’ll probably never need a 36 grit belt again, but it did the job well. Thanks

When you really need to remove serious amounts of material with a handheld sander, a belt sander with a 36 grit belt is about as aggressive as you can get. Indeed, I don't recommend you get these belts unless you're sure you know what you're doing; handheld belt sanders with any course grit can gouge into whatever you're working on and ruin it if you aren't careful.Anyway, moving on to these belts in particular, they're good ones. One quick way to separate poor sanding belts from better ones is by looking at the seam where the belt is joined together. Cheap belts will use an overlapping seam, and this produces a bump in the belt that makes the sander "galumph" with every revolution. The sander is harder to control and using it is a less pleasant experience. Better sanding belts, like these, will butt the two end of the belt together at the seam and then bond them with a thin layer of fiberglass and adhesive on the back. In addition to that, these belts have well-bonded abrasive. On the other hand, contrary to text in the description, I wouldn't recommend these for "glass, stone, granite, cement," except for very soft "stone."

They seem to be nice quality replacement belts for my belt sander. These particular belts are all 36 grit. There are some products out there that have a variety of different grits. Know what you’re looking for. Personally having a lot of 36 works well for me. So far I’ve only use them for light projects but they’re holding up just fine. Seems to run smoothly. Recommended.
