The platters that come with the set are very beautiful and just put them by themselves is worth it.The tears like an added bonus.This would look great for holiday display or something where you want to feature some pretty desserts or what not

This can hold a good amount of fruit or deserts on it. However, it is not the sturdiest. It does wobble a little bit, so heavy items or many items that can get heavy can make it tip or droop if placed on the top shelf. This would be good for deserts, crackers, cheese, sliced meat, prepared fruit, or condiment packets. The color is nice like that at restaurants or hotels where they serve breakfast or snacks.

Overall, this is a very beautiful item, but up close, the "gold" leafing looks a little cheaper than what is shown.
