No washer, no little hole to easily tighten - make these hard to attach quickly and robustly. I often swap for a different style even in the field--thought I had tightened these pretty well; but on 2nd outing even then one wobbled loose somewhere on some trail, so now I have 2 of them.See for comparison other brands with the same concept, but which also have a rubber gasket and a little cross-wise hole in the spike for easily tightening using a small hex-wrench or similar.

You are going to want to add a dab of Locktite to keep them from working free. Other than that they work well.

These have been a great upgrade.The ability to “snap on” the rubber feet “over” the spikes allow for easy adjustment to different terrain in an instant.Having the rubber tips available to cover the spikes easily is a great feature to prevent scratching and poking through a bag, or backpack.Excellent choice and a very worthwhile upgrade.
