Parts of my fences are becoming a bit wobbly over the years, either due to rotting posts, or them getting loosened by wind gusts. These fence braces took over two weeks to arrive, but eventually showed up. They feel heavy duty and sturdy and should help extending the life of these post by another few years.A few things to remember - if the post is fairly advanced in its rot, it's probably better to forgo these braces and just redo the fence/post. Also, obviously these don't work if the posts are set in concrete. Will report back if there is anything interesting to share as these keep my fence upright another couple of years.

I got these awhile ago, but waited for warmer weather to install them. It turns out it was easy to install them, even in partially-frozen ground. I don't expect this to be a permanent repair of the posts that have rotted at ground level, but it might be - these anchors sure seem sturdy enough to last quite awhile. Installing them did a great job of restoring the posts to their upright and solid position, and was, by far, quicker and easier than removing the old posts, digging a new hole, and installing new posts and fence connections. I will probably get more for future repairs.

These are very heavy and sturdy. I am a bit surprised that they are in two pieces that you have to bolt together. I was hoping a solid piece of iron I could drive into the ground next to a loose post and then attach it to the wood to firm it up. These are intended to hold a post that just sits on top of the ground. I was still able to make them work for my purposes though. They're good and strong and the tines go deep enough into the ground to hold my 4x4 post, so mission accomplished.

The fence post anchors have a nice looking black powder coating that completely covers the anchors. These are well built post repair anchors at a good value. It comes in two pieces that I needed to fasten together before beginning. There are 2 wrenches included in the kit to tighten it down. The little wrenches are a better quality than usually come in a kit so I'll hang on to them and put them in my tool box. After assembling them they seem just as sturdy as one piece post repair anchors. We used these to straighten up 2 of our picket fence posts and they did a good job. The screws that come in the pack are not like pictured. They are phillips headed wood screws and work fine for our installation. The kit also includes a double sided phillips bit, and I was surprised that the bit we received is slightly magnetized. To drive these in the ground we used a 8 pound hand held sledge hammer. As a senior lady, I find it easy to use an 8 pounder just like a hammer but easier because the weight of the sledge and larger head help to drive the stakes and a full size sledge is out of my weight class. We've had a lot of precipitation lately and our soil is close to rock free so the 14" spikes on the end of this post anchor went in the ground with very little difficulty. If I were doing something more than fixing a picket fence post I would opt for some heavier duty screws. but even though I have some 3" heavy duty screws on hand, I didn't feel that the picket fence installation warranted up grading the screws from what was included.
