Thanks to C.Bruno for the instructions on the repair. To add some clarification, the bearings/hub (they are in two parts) on the old wheels must be removed which can be done using pliers on the extended hub to wiggle them out. Then, use a screwdriver or other tool to push out the other half from the inside of the wheel. The new wheels were sent with the bearings installed. Since the new bearings are not used in the repair, there was enough of a hub on them to wiggle them out with pliers. (You do not want to damage the new wheels, so using a hammer to knock out the bearings is risky.)Also, as Mister P noted, the nut on the cap screw causes the two molded plastic pieces to be misaligned. Putting the nut on the outside only helped marginally in our case. We ended up cutting out a small hole on the inside molded plastic piece to accommodate the nut. It was a bit more work than expected. So glad to have the carry-on fixed and ready to go on new adventures!

Old casters on suitcase disintegrated. Fairly easy to install and worked great. Manufacturer said they no longer made casters for the model I have, but the rest of suitcase was too nice to throw away. Still rolling

Worked perfectly for me. Thanks C. Bruno! Hopefully the bag will last another 20 years. They just don't make them like that anymore for under $300. Found 2 1/4 inch stainless steel cap screws by googling and they worked out great. I am ordering another set of wheels for when these break. I assume the bag will outlast any wheels.

Thanks to reviewer C Bruno. You MacGyvered it perfectly. Amazon sells an inexpensive set of mini cutting discs for about $10, so I used 2-1/2” ss cap screws and cut them (not easy!) Also, there was limited room between the two molded pieces that hold the wheels, so I put the head of the screws on the inside and the nylock nut on the outside. Not as elegant, but it works. Again, thanks C.

The wheels worked, but they are of such low quality that I expect to have to replace them soon.

Wheels arrived with bearings all ready installed and I could not get the bearings out. I bought them for the Costco Bag wheel repair as described in previous reviews. The OLD wheel bearings must be REUSED. Since the new wheels came with bearings installed and I cant get the new ones out to insert the old ones the wheel are useless to me for my specific luggage unfortunately. The picture shows the bearings not installed but they are arriving with them installed. Very important if you are trying to repair your Costco luggage!

If you have the old Costco Kirkland Signature Executive 22" Expandable Trolley (the ballistic nylon version) and the wheels have come apart, salvation is at hand. This review assumes the wheel bearings are still good, because you will have reuse them. The factory bearings have proprietary bearing hubs and I cannot find them anywhere.Parts list:These 80mm x 24mm wheels.2 - 5/16" - 24 x 2 1/4" cap screws (any good hardware store should have these)2 - 5/16" - 24 nylock nuts4 - 5/16" washers2 - 1/2" wrenches or sockets1 - 10mm socket or wrench1 - phillips screwdriver1 - drill bit larger than 5/16" and drillA note on the cap screws. These must have a hex head, pan head, or nearly any other that is not a flat or oval head. Stainless steel would be nice, but I could not find it in 2 1/4" length. I used chromed grade 2 steel. If you cannot find the 2 1/4" length, keep looking. 2 1/2" probably will not fit, though I did not try it.The process:Remove the liner inside the bag (it is Velcro'd in), then the six screws that hold the wheel assembly (these are phillips on the outside, 10mm acorn nuts on the inside). You can now see that the wheel axle is a large rivet. You need to drill out the inner end of the axle with your drill bit so that the rolled over flange breaks away. Do not drill into the plastic. Once the axle is loose throw it away along with the bearings and axles that came with the wheel kit. Take the bearings out of your bad wheels and put them on the good wheels. These bearings have an extended hub--one longer than the other. The short hub goes on the outside with the elongated portion in the wheel; the long hub goes on the inside of the wheel with the elongated portion sticking out. Note that the wheel is not directional--I am using inside and outside to refer to its placement on the luggage housing. Now put a washer on your 5/16" cap screw, slide it on the wheel from the outside, push the extended hub into the housing and put a washer and nylock nut on the inside. Use a nylock--you don't want to have to do this again when a regular nut comes loose. Tighten and stop tightening when the screw just reaches the end of the nylock. Now put it all together. Note that the web straps inside the suitcase are held in place with the two front screws you are replacing, so don't forget to line those up where they belong under the plastic. That's it, you are done and your suitcase will no doubt last a long time to come. Many thanks to reVamp on August 13, 2016 for being kind enough to answer my question about the bearing size.

The wheels were just the right diameter and width to fit my luggage. The only rough spot was figuring out which bearing sleeve worked better - the originals or replacements. I ended up having to use the original bearings, since the replacement bearing were just a little too wide, causing the wheels to bind up.
