These JOWHONK stainless steel barbecue skewers are absolutely fantastic! The 21.6" length is perfect for grilling larger kabobs, and the flat metal design keeps the food from spinning, making it so much easier to cook evenly. I especially love the wooden handles, which stay cool to the touch and make them comfortable to use over the grill.The stainless steel material is durable and reusable, so these skewers will last for many BBQ seasons. Cleanup is also a breeze—just a quick wash, and they’re good to go for the next grilling session. If you love barbecuing, smoking, churrasco, or otherwise cooking over fire, you will absolutely love these metal skewers.Before we continue, I need you to go find a ruler or a measuring tape and measure out 23.5 inches. Go ahead, I’ll wait.Did you do it? Well, if you didn’t, let me tell you how long these skewers are: if you take four dollar bills and lay them down end to end, they are just half an inch longer than the skewers. Yes, they’re that long.All that means is you might only need one or two depending on how many people you’re cooking for…but they work extremely well, they’re very durable, food safe, and useful.Great for shish kabobs, steak, chicken, veggies, and more. You’ll love these skewers!

I have for years used cheap, thin metal skewers when grilling and had many issues. Usually a portion of the food would spin around on the skewer, misaligning it with the rest and making it hard to cook all the pieces evenly on each side. The food also frequently slid off, or worse, was difficult to remove once cooked. Even flipping the food over was a pain that usually involved trying to improvise a way to grasp each end of the skinny skewer and get them to rotate. Not any more.These Jowhonk stainless steel skewers are made of stainless steel with wooden handles. They are heavy duty and well made. The entire length is 54.6cm (21.5”). The wooden handle measures 10.6cm (4”) from its tip to the metal ferrel that secures the blade. The flat metal blade part is 44.45cm (17.5”) long, 1.143cm (~7/16”) wide and 0.2cm (~5/64”) thick. The tip is tapered but not too sharp. A rubber cap is provided to cover the tip when not in use.I have to confess, when I received the skewers my initial thought was “These are like swords!” Then I thought about how wide they were and what would happen when I tried to put the food on them. Would they easily penetrate the meat or will I struggle and possibly stab myself trying? Will crisp type vegetables like bell peppers or onions simply split in half due to the width of the blade?I am happy to report that they worked great. The tip was easy to pass through the meat. Onions were no problem. I had a few bell peppers split, but I soon realized I just had to be sure to align the flat part of the blade with the pepper’s natural grain and it worked fine. All the issues I had while cooking with the previous skewers were gone. I could easily turn the food using the wooden handle that stays outside the grill and remains cool to the touch. The food didn’t spin around on the skewer so everything got evenly cooked. None of the food slid off on its own, however when it was time to plate the food, it easily slid off the polished stainless steel.The only negative I can say about the product are the rubber tip covers. They seemed a bit small for the blade width. They were hard to get on, and once on, frequently fell off if the tip brushed against anything. I quickly got tired of bending over to retrieve the covers that kept falling off, so I threw them away. The tips aren’t sharp like knives, so it isn’t that big of a safety issue.These Jowhonk stainless steel skewers are quality built and I see myself using them for years.
