These injection ports work well and are made of a soft, flexible rubber. I use large needles for my mycology cultures, and the ports last between 30-40 injections with a 16ga needle. Once I went past 40 injections, the rubber had trouble self-healing. The way the bottom is designed, the thick walls help for a strong seal with the vial, but they reduce the area that is thin enough to easily stick a needle through to 5mm so the injections are more concentrated to the center of the stopper and not spread across the total surface area. The injection ports last longer with 25ga needles, and you can get 300-400 injections before the stopper starts to have trouble sealing.

I sterilized Mason Jars with modified lids (PFTE Filter and these self healing injection ports). Injecting spores into the jar left a small hole that leaks the liquid culture broth when the jar is turned upside down. These are definitely not self healing.

If you're looking for injection ports to make your own mycology lids, these are the ones you want. A 12 mm hole drilled in the lid, and these will press fit right in, no adhesive or silicone necessary. They have worked perfectly for me for my liquid cultures - no contamination. I have also used them on my grain jars by just spritzing down both sides with 70% isopropyl alcohol before putting them on.

These are decent injection ports. The delivery took longer than most items, but I'd rather wait for a good quality item and these are good quality.

I've used more than 15 of these since I have had them. No contamination so clearly doing the job required.

I bough these to use on mason jar lids - as an injection point mushroom culture. Package arrived in good shape and no funky / chemical smells from the ports.I've used a dozen of the ports without issue. I'm cheap so I have actually reused a half dozen of the lids - again no problems. Both times pressure cooked for 2 hours at 15 lbs. I'm guessing I will get several more uses out of each before I have to toss the lids and make new ones with new ports. Not much else to say - they seem to work and no issues seen.
