After rebuilding my OEM brake calipers multiple times, it became increasingly difficult to keep corrosion out of the glide pins, resulting in uneven wear of the pads and "squeaking"/ dragging of the front brakes. After installing these, and flushing out all the original brake fluid and filling with new, the brakes are quiet, and now release completely. I noticed the pads look like they are impregnated with copper (semi-metallic), and should provide good wear, but I'll have to let time tell the tale on that.
