Excellent Heavy-Duty Steel Fence Post Supports. My mailbox post needed support to keep from leaning and falling over. These repair stakes worked perfectly and the post is standing upright now. I wasn’t the person that installed the post supports but installation did look pretty easy.

I had one post that was starting to lean, this fix will keep that section of fence up until I can replace it next year. It would probably last longer than that if I needed it to.

They work well for my use. Make a termerary pin for my puppy. A few 4x4 and these and they held up well.. depending on your ground, some areas the ground is just too soft..nothing to do with the product. The hardest part is driving them into the ground strait, or as strait as you can.. but they held up in 60 mph winds we had the other night with no issues and the dog can't push them over.. so for the ease, and the ability to move my fencing later . Good buy

I have some old posts out in my garden, a few of which had rotted off at the base. These post repair brackets allowed me to easily and sturdily fix a couple posts and bring them back to their original rigidity. The brackets are very strong and support the weight of the old posts well.

Most will look at my installation photos and think I’ve really screwed this up but I’ll explain. This post was broken at the top of the concrete and was held up by the two opposing posts and cross members. I couldn’t drive the post into the ground next to the post because of that concrete. I was amazed I was able to drive the stabilizer in as far as I did because there is mostly rock in this ground. Digging post holes is very difficult. So, I had to offset the stabilizer. I pulled the post to the stabilizer and held it with the top screw. I had to use much longer screws to hold the subsequent holes and the stabilizer bent, of course, as I tightened them. It worked great! It feels very sturdy. Doesn’t look that great but it’s not the product. Assembly is super easy, they come in two pieces which need to be bolted together, and depending on the conditions, the ground where you live and so forth, installation is straight forward and simple. As for value these are comparable to ones in the hardware store. So fairly priced.

The posts and brackets are solid and well built. They come as separate stake and post bracket each with large rectangular plates that are mated together with bolts. These large plates make the connection more strong and stable. It also makes pounding the stake half into the ground easier, because the fence bracket isn't there, giving you that large top plate of the stake for pounding it into the ground with a hammer, hand sledge, or demo hammer. Once the stake is solidly in the ground, the post bracket is attached without having to fumble with and hold separate nuts under the stake plate for the bolts to screw into, because the manufacturer welded the nuts onto the underside of the stake plate. So it only takes one wrench – not two – to tighten the bolts holding the two halves together. Great design for reanchoring a wood post where the inground portion has rotted out, but the exposed, upper part of the post is still solid. It appears to me that this reanchoring system is designed as-is to stabilize a post that was set directly in the ground, that in-ground portion has rotted out and where the ground immediately adjacent to the old post is solid and the ground is not crumbling or weaken by the rotted out post base. If the original post was set directly in concrete, it's likely that you'll be trying to pound this replacement post anchor into the old concrete. If the concrete is under where this anchor needs to be, you have three alternatives: 1) there is at least one alternative repair kit like this on Amazon, that has a longer off set from the post, where there is likely solid earth that you can pound the stake into, 2) you could pound the stake in front of the 4x4 post, but beyond the old concrete base, then will this gap with wood screwed into the old post and this backet into the wood spacer, and, 3) you can install one of these reanchoring stakes to the right and left of the old concrete post base, and then add two new vertical 2x4 or 4x4 inch pieces between the horizontal rails – attaching them with angle brackets to the rails – then attach these brackets to these new vertical partial posts. Also, if you have access to both sides of the old post, sandwiching the old post with the brackets with nuts and bolts instead of the lag bolts provided can form a stronger connection to the upper post that's starting to rot too or last longer in a solid post that might shrink away from the threads of a lag bolts over the years in the weather. While the stake portion of these brackets probably won't last "forever" like a galvanized, U shaped post base concreted into the ground, it should last years

These repair stakes lack the structural steel and design to be effective. The two splines that go into the ground are not heavy-gauge metal and can bend if they encounter hard objects. I have used others with a single spline, and they are easier to install and heavier-duty compared to these. There are better options than this two-pack kit.
