I was apprehensive buying a cheap granite drill. I only had one hole to drill...will probably not use it again. It was perfect. Cut just fine and it still has life left over!

I bought this to cut holes for plumbing in new porcelain tile I installed in my bathroom renovation. It was so inexpensive I was a little skeptical that it wood work. However, I was delighted by how fast the bit cut the hole! I actually double checked to see if my tile was in fact porcelain and not softer ceramic. Indeed it was porcelain. The key with this bit (and cutting into porcelain in general) is to keep the cutting surface wet. In my case, I simply used a wet sponge to squeeze water onto the bit while it was cutting. It cut SO FAST! I only cut 3 holes with this bit, but it seems to still be in good shape. Photo above shows the bit after these cuts.

To drill hole at the bottom of a ceramic canister took much longer than expected, but it did a good job.

I like that it has a pilot bit. It made it so easy to start the hole. I removed the pilot after establishing a good start then continued to finish hole. The slug fell into a bucket below cutting surface. Cut through quartz top no problem with nice finish.
