This tool set is complete with everything that you need to replace the timing chain on N20 BMW engine. Obviously to you to know certain principles about setting timing, but with this tool set provide the retainer to set the camshaft on the proper timing position to adjust the timing change properly and also to hold the crankshaft in order for you to torque down, the front crankshaft bolt. The Build quality matches with what did technicians use in the dealerships meaning that this tool is to is to be used many times Without being worried about getting damaged.

I’ve been an automotive dealer mechanic for 15 years , the last 5 of them working for BMW. I no longer work in the dealer and have moved out of the business. I purchased this kit for my 2013 N20 X3 to replace the exhaust vanos adjustment gear. The alloy materials used in this kit are subpar compared to the OEM tool, but that is reflected in the price . That being said , I saw no difference in the effectiveness or accuracy of this tool compared to the OEM tool. I used the TDC torque converter pin, flywheel lock, cam shaft locking bridge , and pulse sensor wheel alignment jig. All worked great. I cannot review any other part of the kit because I didn’t use them , but assume they would work well.

The product does what it is supposed too.Now the gloves that come with it. If you are a woman with small hands the gloves would be perfect. But ya the gloves I got were size super small. So couldn’t use them. Other than that no issues .

My BMW (N20) had the notorious timing chain problem, and it was not a typical DIY job (as it took two of us approximatly 10 full days to finally get it replaced). Bought this product for the job, and it worked flawlessly. The tools are very sturdy and well built. I am extremely satisfied with this product.

This jig is better than the more expensive versions. One piece construction and locking screw at base of alignment forks.
