About 4 months ago I lost signal on one of my cameras. My system is 11 years old, so I thought maybe the camera finally gave up the ghost. 3 weeks ago, I lost the entire display. The DVR was still powered on, so I figured the video card finally died.I checked the original manufacturer, and they no longer make a DVR that supports my cameras. I started looking at new systems. Then I found this DVR. I figured if it didn't work with my cameras, I would return it, and go with a new system. This arrived 4 days earlier than stated. Bonus #1. Setup took less than 1 minute. It actually took more time to initially boot up, than it did to go through the setup. Interestingly the date and time were set. No adjustment necessary. This part took me about 10 seconds as I didn't believe it at first. Bonus #2. Pulling the video from the cameras, the monitor display resolution through the DVR is clear and crisp. It's actually better than the original. The original manufacturer video display on the monitor was always a little fuzzy. Bonus #3. VGA, and HDMI outputs, so I keep my ability to monitor the cameras in 2 different rooms. We watch for deer, bears, raccoons, Amazon, UPS, and FedEx. Bonus #4. It actually pulls in better Night vision resolution and clarity than the original DVR. Bonus #5.I was kind of hoping this wouldn't work so well. I was looking to replace the entire camera system, and upgrade to 24 cameras. With 24 cameras I would be able to monitor every corner of our property. With this DVR working so well, I can't justify a $5K purchase. My wife can see the improvement, and I'm not able to get past the current improved clarity with her.I'm happy this saved me $5K. I'm happy it is so good. I'm happy it was so easy to set up. I'm sad that I can't get a new 24 camera system just yet.

No manual, had to download one from web. Hand held controller does not work.It does seem to have some nice features I just have to teach myself how to work it.
