Awesome! I was thrilled to find this outside light cover. Its an older outdoor lamp post and the shade was blown off during the hurrricane and was never found. Fast delivery and looks good. Lucky to have found this!

Globes are well done. Weak link is the base below that the globe attaches to. We occasionally have a globe knocked off by the wind, and always find a broken base that cracked or fractured. Like the globes, wish they made the bases better.

These are 12 inch globes with a no neck, 5.25 inch opening. I have 4 globes on my beautiful 30 year old outdoor lamp post. For years, I've been removing the globes a couple times a year to exchange standard bulbs for different color ones depending on the holiday season. This started long before wi-fi color changing bulbs, but I digress. Anyway, I broke one of the globes when I dropped it while on the ladder. I figured if I can find replacement globes, I should replace all 4 since the originals were getting discolored/stained. I was looking for replacements in the $10 each range, but couldn't find that. I ran across these and thought they would work, but the cost seemed pretty high. I ordered just 1 so I could see it. After inspecting it when it arrived, I immediately ordered the other 3. Pricey for a set of 4, but the quality is awesome. The shape is very accurate and the seam is smooth and nearly invisible. I measured the thickness at several points around the opening, and found the measurements consistently close to .187 inches (3/16 in) thick. That's thick! Each one of my old globes varies in thickness from .070 - .100 inches, and the seam is raised and quite visible. Now, I don't mind the cost so much, since it's a such an unexpected level of quality you don't see much of these days. I saw a few negative reviews of these globes, and can only assume they came from the competition, IMHO. Here's an installation tip for you if you remove the globes once in a while for cleaning or other reason. I really got tired of the fasteners that came with the light post originally. They were plastic pieces that had a screw and spring attached that would hold the globes in place when you put the plastic pieces inside the globe and tightened the screw through holes in the lamp post. They took a while to put on because the screws and springs would sometimes fall out and get lost in the grass. After a few years the hardware would rust and the plastic pieces would get brittle and break. What I learned to do is drill 2 small holes in opposing sides of each globe, approximately 3/8 in. above the opening. The holes will then align with the screw holes in the lamp post assembly. I then fasten fasten each globe to the lamp post with zip ties. Quick and easy.

Much thicker layer of acrylic plastic than most other manufacturers products. Durable enough for year round outdoor use.

We live in an older home (Eichler) that uses these type of globes for the lighting in the hallways. One got broken, and to find an exact match would have cost almost 295 dollars for a replacement.We found this one, and now that we have installed it, we can't tell the difference in appearance between this and the original. We are VERY happy.Plan on buying one more 12' and 2 of the 8". Well worth the money for us.

Bought to replace the glass on a West elm table lamp that broke almost immediately, this for perfectly and looks just as good as the glass!

Great product replaced glass globes when one of three broke, in a hanging fixture, and couldn't find a replacement. Lighter weight and less likely to break.
