I have a newly released Ridgid track saw and there are no accessorices available for it yet, when my saw arrived it was not quite aligned correctly so it took too much off the splinter strip. I decided to try this and adjust the saw. The adhesion is great and although its a bit thicker than the original strip the track does not slide around at all. Very happy with this acquisition.

I should have paid more attention to the poor reviews. After the 1st cut, the line was not clean and sharp and therefore not accurate for cuts. Went by the low price and got burnt.

While we would like to believe otherwise, the splinter guard on track saw rails really is a consumable. They wear out, get nicked, and end up not being completely accurate in showing where the saw blade will really cut. For that reason, I always like to keep a spare or two on hand so that if I'm working on a project that requires real precision, I can replace the guard.Alas, the OEM guard strips for my Makita track saw aren't cheap. Even some of the knockoff versions are just a couple bucks less than the OEM. This one, however, is about half the price, so I got it figuring it was worth a go.The guard strip that arrived looks just like the OEM one (though it may be just slightly narrower, since in its untrimmed form is the same width as the one on my track that has already been trimmed by the saw blade. I say this not because it's a real problem, but just so anyone else purchasing this can be aware and know that they might need to keep the splinter guard a little further out than the recess in the aluminum track so that there's enough guard width for the saw to trim to zero clearance.This guard feels like the same material as OEM, is grippy, and is about the same thickness. In full disclosure, I have not yet put this on my track because the one I have isn't worn out enough, but once I do, if I discover any problems I will update my review.
