It is a piece of foam rubber. Can't go far wrong with that. The trick is getting a fastener to retain it on the microphone stem. I have tried O rings, thinking maybe an orthodontist rubber band. Was hoping to find zip ties small enough but no luck so far.

I have an old Heil Traveler Boom set. I contacted the manufacturer and they sold me a foam piece that would never fit. These fit beautifully and I got 10 for the price of one from Heil!!

Bought to replace my mic cover, decided to just get some in bulk in case it gets dirty and the price was pretty good.

I have a Sena headset and mic unit that I used these foam covers for. They work well, but they are not a tight fit on the Sena mic. I lost my first one on the first day out. I put a dab of glue on the end of the mic for retention. So far, so good. I will now also carry a few spares on the bike.
